Leadership
Shauna Williams, Assistant Principal

Now entering my 17th year in education, I bring experience as both a classroom teacher and an instructional leader. My work is grounded in creating an inclusive, supportive environment where every student feels safe, valued, and inspired to learn. I am deeply committed to providing a nurturing and engaging environment for all students.
Outside of school, I share a full and joyful life with my husband of 20 years and our two amazing children. I enjoy spending time with my family, watching my daughter play soccer, reading, and dancing.
It brings me great joy to be part of the Mountain Peak family, and I look forward to supporting our students as they grow. Please feel free to reach out or stop by—I'm always here to support you!
Jill Montoya, Professional Learning Specialist

Welcome to Mountain Peak Elementary!
My name is Jill Montoya, and I am honored to serve as the Professional Learning Specialist at MPE. I am proud to be a MUSTANG and excited to help build a strong foundation for our learning community!
This year marks my 32nd year in education in Colorado. Throughout my career, I have worked in both Jefferson County and Douglas County Schools, teaching kindergarten through 3rd grade. In addition to my classroom experience, I have served as an English Language Development Teacher, the Gifted & Advanced Academics Coordinator, and a District Professional Development Coordinator. I have also had the opportunity to teach master’s-level courses in teacher development programs at Colorado Christian University, Metropolitan State University, and Adams State University. Supporting both students and educators is truly what I love most about this work.
In my current role as a Professional Learning Specialist, I serve as an instructional coach and partner alongside our teachers in grades K–5. I support effective instruction, help analyze student data, and work collaboratively with teachers to develop learning pathways that meet the unique needs of every student. I also lead our Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), where teams of teachers come together to reflect on student progress, set goals, and plan targeted instruction. A key part of my role is providing ongoing professional development and training for staff. I work to support teachers in refining their instructional practices, differentiating for all learners, and creating opportunities that stretch student thinking. I am passionate about building teacher capacity and fostering a culture of continuous learning for both students and staff.
My husband and I have raised our three children here in Highlands Ranch. They attended Heritage Elementary, Mountain Ridge, and Mountain Vista High School. My oldest recently graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Business and Finance, my daughter is a junior at CU Boulder studying to become an elementary school teacher, and my youngest is in 8th grade at Mountain Ridge Middle School.
I am thrilled to be part of the Mountain Peak team and to help create a school filled with connection, learning, and lasting memories. It is going to be a fantastic year!
