Second Grade

Welcome to an exciting second-grade year where we bridge the gap between early learning and independent discovery! This year, our classroom will be a vibrant hub for "reading to learn" and mastering foundational math as we strengthen addition and subtraction skills to become confident problem solvers. Our investigation of the world continues in science as we explore Earth’s changes, the states of matter, and animal life cycles, while in social studies, we’ll dive into geography and the basics of personal finance through our classroom economy system.

While we grow as readers, writers, and thinkers, our most important work happens in the heart. We are dedicated to fostering a culture of kindness, integrity, and empathy, ensuring every student understands that being a "good person" is just as vital as being a good student. By embracing hands-on learning and celebrating mistakes as "brain-growing moments," we can't wait to learn and explore together!
